Advantages
The Ceramic blasting bead is high-hard and not easy to deformation with super high impact force. High-hardness of zirconium silicate sand can enhance productivity by stress peening the Ultra-high strength structural parts. The second characteristic
keeps the shape of sand from changing when impacted. The spherical shape of the ceramic sand increases the stability of parts shot peening.
1. The glass sand is more high polished, but it’s less durable than ceramic sand. It’s produced in poor environment and it creates free dust which is harmful to workers’ health. Moreover, glass sand wears shot peening equipment and spare parts.
2. The ceramic sand is cost-effective with long service life of over 20 times as much as the glass sand. It won’t wear but break into pieces, while unbroken sand still keep the shape, hardness and smooth surface. Ceramic sand hardly creates dust so that it can efficiently deduce the pollution and harm to workers. Secondly, these characteristics need less time to change material which could reduce the labor cost and bring high benefits In the dry shot peening, wet shot peening or shot blasting process.
3. The surface quality of the workpiece treated by ceramic projectile shot peening is much better than that of glass beads, greatly reducing the mold maintenance and polishing time. The density of the powder is greater than glass beads with elastic modulus, and impact energy. And the use of the same shot peening effect can reduce the shot peening pressure.
