Production Instruction
Ethylcellulose (EC) is a non-water-soluble cellulose ether. Due to its unique chemical inertness, film-forming ability, thermoplasticity, and stability to water and oil, it is primarily used in the food and feed industries as a processing aid, coating material, and functional additive. Its safety has been recognized by major food safety authorities such as the US FDA and the European EFSA.
In food, ethylcellulose is not used as a nutrient but as a functional additive, mainly to improve processing performance, stability, and product quality.
1.Microencapsulation of Flavors and Colors
2.Protective Coating for Nutraceuticals
3.Structuring Agent for Low-Fat or Oil-Free Products
4.Food Processing Aid (Binder and Film Former)
Applications in Feed
1.Coating for Premixes (Vitamins and Enzymes)
2.Controlled-Release Feed Additives
3.Feed Binder
4.Encapsulation of Flavors
